Following a two boat turn out on Sunday, 23 Rd October, in which Harro and Franz in Peach 2 roundly defeated Rainer and Jeremy in Kittiwich, we had a 5-boat turnout , Cab 6 ( jeremy /Eppi ) Kittiwich ( Rainer / Martin ) Peach 2, (Harro/ tba ) Ratatosch aka The Squirrel ( Gavin /Yasid Gavin sailing possibly his last race before moving to Abu Dhabi ) and newcomer MJ who owns the nice Beneteau 45 renamed RECAA but formerly known as Impiana crewed by his children Rhishi and Kesh sailing Jeremys newly restored TOM
After an even start with a strong tide but initially little wind Cab 7 hoisted the spinnaker and pulled away, the wind filled in north-westerly , more north than usual, which meant a close reach and finally beat to Selat , nice wind 12 knots gave a super sail to the buoy with flat water in contrast to last weekend wind against tide choppy conditions, first to round was Cab 7 followed by Peach Squirrel, Tom and Kittiwich.
Cab7 quickly hoisted the spinnaker and were away , Tom did not have her spinnaker rigged but the others also hoisted theirs before the wind went ahead again before the finish , Cab 7 finished in exactly 1 hour and 45 minutes close to the record followed by Peach , Squirrel ,Tom and finally after a host of problems Kittiwich , congrats to MJ and his young crew not bad for a first squib outing, he has joined PSC and we look forward to seeing more of the family
Racing was followed by a BBQ kindly organised by Phoebe and with delicious food prepared by Vladimir/Benny and complemented literally by President Amir traditional and excellent satay , a great time was had by all
